Hello folks,

Finally, I’m sharing both great and unfortunate news. 

I’m pleased to announce that my book, Disappearance at Sycamore Grove: A Journey of Courage, Forgiveness, and Acceptance, received a Pencraft Award for Literary Excellence.

2026 Summer’s Best Book Winner: Genre Young Adult-Social Issues.

This novel is the third in my 'Journey' series featuring the return of a small band of teen friends, Harry the English Setter, and other adult characters in the fictitious town of Bellaire, Virginia. The stories examine social issues facing contemporary teens and highlight the positive effects of friendship, loyalty, and support from a larger community. They feature cozy-style mysteries, with a bit of humor and light romance.

In a more sober tone, I have been helping my pup, Calli, recover from extensive knee surgery, requiring very limited activity and close, constant supervision. If I am honest, I must confess that I’m mourning the loss of my morning walks with my lovely buddy, besides the concern about whether she will make a full recovery. Add to that, loss of sleep, and I’m not on my ‘A’ game. I hope faith, expert advice and intervention, with a healthy dose of love and attention, will prevail.

With fits and starts, my fourth ‘Journey’ book has been underway. It’s about the age-old difficulties of prejudice, suspicion, and jealousy, with the power of love, hope, self-awareness, and friendship winning the day.
